Josh provides the accurate and timely estimates clients need for sound decision making and planning. He also coordinates and schedules projects, and helps project managers and superintendents meet clients' quality, time and budget objectives. His responsibilities include developing the mechanical, electrical and plumbing scope-of-work, ensuring that all scope-of-work items are in the estimate, and maintaining the documentation required, so projects conform to the agreed-upon scope-of-work and all appropriate standards. Through these and other activities, he plays a key role in enabling the commercial HVAC and MEP company to deliver projects that meet today's demanding client requirements.

 

Construction Design/Build Expertise

After graduating from college with honors, Josh joined Nogle & Black Mechanical in July 2006. His strong mathematics background and attention to detail combined with his client relationship skills and knowledge of construction practices have helped him develop the expertise needed to perform a range of significant tasks. For example, in addition to his basic responsibilities, he reviews proposed design/build drawings to identify constructability issues that could increase a project's time and costs, prices change orders, coordinates subcontractors, and conducts field inspections to ensure compliance with drawings and building codes.

Josh holds a bachelor's degree in advanced technical studies with a minor in business and administration from Southern Illinois University Carbondale, as well as an associate degree in construction design and management from Parkland College College in Champaign, IL.

 

The Personal Side

In addition to spending time with his baby daughter, Josh enjoys outdoor activities, such as fishing, camping and hiking. He also likes to read technical articles, and help family and friends with home improvement projects.
