Value Delivered
Dan ensures fast, cost-effective delivery of projects tailored to his client’s specific needs. Working exclusively with the University of Illinois, he meets with the client to discuss its facility requirements. He then develops a proposal with a scope of work, schedules and estimates. When the proposal has been approved, he hires the appropriate trades, oversees project activities, manages budgets and performs the other tasks necessary to successfully complete the job. The result is classrooms, laboratories, auditoriums, cafeterias and other university facilities economically maintained for maximum comfort and productivity.
Expertise
Dan started his construction career in 1978 as a journeyman plumber/pipefitter. Over the past 30 years, he has worked on projects ranging from nuclear power stations and oil refineries to commercial real estate and industrial facilities. His supervisory experience extends from simple design-builds to multi-million dollar ventures, a significant factor in his ability to effectively manage multiple trades.
In 2001, he joined a firm that worked on University of Illinois’ job order projects. Five years later, when Nogle & Black won the contract for those services, the company recognized the value of Dan’s effective supervisory skills and extensive client experience by hiring him to lead the university account.
A graduate of the Plumbers & Steamfitters Local #65 apprenticeship program, he is an Illinois licensed plumber. In addition, he has earned a valve repair specialist’s license and a labor/management certificate from the United Association of Plumbers & Steamfitters.
The Personal Side
Dan and his wife have four children and three grandchildren. He enjoys playing golf, and is an avid Philadelphia Phillies and Chicago Bears fan. A former high school football coach, he also holds an Illinois High School Association coaching certificate.
