Ed Drago

Estimator/Project Manager

Value Delivered

Ed ensures delivery of high-performance commercial HVAC and MEP equipment and systems that help meet the complex challenges confronting today’s facilities owners and managers. After identifying clients’ needs and assessing technical issues, he provides accurate, comprehensive estimates for design-build or “plan & spec” projects. Once a project has been approved, he draws on the company’s extensive resources and project-proven subcontractors to get the work done. During the project, he oversees schedules, orders materials and equipment, and works with the project foreman and other key team members to avoid potential technical, labor, financial and other issues. Throughout the process, he draws upon his years of diverse experience to enable on-time, within-budget project completion that satisfies clients most demanding expectations.

Commercial Heating & Cooling Equipment Services Expertise

Ed has more than 30 years of HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) engineering and service experience. Before taking his current post, he held a number of service management and technical positions. Through these, he developed in-depth expertise in installing and servicing a wide range of commercial heating and cooling equipment, including chillers, process cooling units, refrigeration equipment, rooftop heating units, residential furnaces, large hot water and steam boilers, and controls and control systems.

Ed is a graduate of the Ranken Technical Institute in St. Louis, Mo., where he earned his degree in heating, air conditioning and refrigeration. He has also completed a four-year apprentice program through the U.S. Department of Labor and Sheet Metal Workers International Union Local 218 D, where he is a former instructor for third- and fourth-year apprentices.

Ed continually augments his education with additional courses, including three semesters of auto-CAD drafting at Richland Community College, as well as instructor training programs at the International Training Institute for the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Industry. He has also completed specialized training in energy management, indoor air quality, refrigerant recovery and reclamation, geothermal heat pumps, hazardous materials, customer service, safety and personal ethics. Other courses have included Robert Kiyosaki’s Rich Dad personal coaching program, and Steven R. Covey’s programs on the seven habits of highly effective people, focus and the 8th habit. Ed holds a contractor’s license for heating, air conditioning and refrigeration from the City of Decatur, universal refrigerant certification from the EPA, and SMACNA (Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association) certification as an air balance technician. He served two terms as vice president of the local chapter of the Refrigeration Service Engineer Society, where he also taught refrigeration and air conditioning courses.
